Reverse applique heart, done entirely in the hoop. There is small amount of hand stitching required to close the opening.
This ITH project is a reverse appliqué – you lay your main fabric over a smaller, decorative one – and then cut out a heart shape (guidance lines sewn) from the main fabric to reveal the decorative one below. There are loads of fabric combinations that can be used to make the final results look completely different. For example shabby chic, vintage, romantic.
