Description

In the hoop Flex Frame Sunglasses Case pattern. Embroidery machine design of a fully lined snap closure sunglasses case for 6×10 hoops.

You can watch our You Tube tutorial on how to make the Pixie Willow Patterns glasses case – https://youtu.be/7GypYMmTPe8. The Sunglasses case uses a 12cm flex frame and is a slightly wider and longer case compared to the Pixie Willow Patterns glasses case, which uses a 9cm flex frame. The construction for both cases is exactly the same.

This smart ITH sunglasses case is made in the hoop, in two quick and easy 6×10 hoopings. There are no exposed seams in this fully lined case, and the finished product looks amazing.

The pattern comes with step by step photos and instructions. The instructions include two methods on how to make the snap closure channel, and the method differs, depending on whether you to choose either vinyl/leather or cotton. Please read the instructions carefully when choosing which fabric to use. If you choose to make the channel out of cotton, a small element of preparation is needed on a normal sewing machine, although this can be achieved by hand. The turning gap in the lining is also sewn by hand after unhooping.

A 12cm Flex frame is needed for the snap closure mechanism at the top of the case. This is added after the case has been completed on the embroidery machine.

These make great gifts, are easy to personalise, and make a brilliant item for craft fair stock. The case is ideal for the fashionable oversized sunglasses, and the case even fits in the standard hard case my reading glasses come in!

Technical Information

Hoop 1 = 150.2 x 188.8 mm = 920 stitches
Hoop 2 = 152.3 x 189.9 mm = 3,383 stitches

Please note, it is possible to use a flex frame smaller than the 9cm specified for this design. The snap closure channel needs to be 0.5cm smaller than the length of your flex frame. So for example, if you have a flex frame that is 8cm long, the snap closure channel will need to be 7.5cm long. Ensure that the snap closure channel fabric, is then centred along its placement line. However, please be aware that the gap between the hinges of the snap closure and the side of the bag will get bigger, the smaller the flex frame used.

Included is ONE zip file. This consists of the pattern files in the below formats and a PDF instruction file. There is an additional PDF file which is a step by step photo tutorial for these who would like extra visual help.
