This is an in the hoop project of a zipper bag featuring a log cabin quilt panel on the front AND back of the bag, resulting in a really special finished piece.

The finished look of the zipper bag, can be vary greatly depending on what colour threads and fabrics you use to create the quilt blocks. Whether you use different coloured pieces of fabric for each strip and the same colour thread for the sashiko stitching, or the same shade of colour for the strips and different coloured thread for the sashiko stitching on each strip…there are so many possibilities with this pattern. It is certainly, a great scrap fabric buster.

The pouch is completed in three 6×10 hoopings – the front and back panels are created using hoop 1- (hoop 1 is sewn twice to create the two panels), and the bag itself, is constructed in hoop 2. The pattern comes with comprehensive instructions and photo.

Hoop 1 = 158.4 x 253.0 mm. = 16,052 stitches
Hoop 2 = 152.2 x 245.4 mm = 3,545 stitches
