This versatile re-usable cracker design is an ITH (in the hoop) machine embroidery project for a 8×12 and 5×7 hoop.
It is fully lined, no raw edges, and has a set of ribbons incorporated into the design to allow the ends to be tied together into a cracker shape.
The re-useable cracker is a fantastic way of reducing the amount of waste created at Christmas time. Why not use some of your favourite fabric and make these a family tradition that will last year after year? Fill them with your own meaningful gifts, personalise them and use as a place maker at the Christmas dinner table.
The cracker has been designed to fit a standard UK cardboard toilet roll. If you don’t fancy using a toilet roll, a plastic inner tube or a cardboard craft roll 11 cm long and 4 cm diameter, are good alternatives. Whatever you use to give the cracker shape and protect the contents, it can be removed after use and the crackers can be stored flat. What a great space saving idea!
A sewing machine is needed to sew one seam and then the rest is completed on an embroidery machine.
5×7 = 57.5 x 177.8 mm = 1,707 stitches
8×12 = 89.6 x 277.2 mm = 2,618 stitches
